around the gite
The Gigude is the perfect choice for hiking, mountain biking and equestrian treks. The cottage is located at the crossroads of the two most important Corbières footpaths: the GR36 and the Cathar trail. The Château de Peyrepertuse (1h) and the Galamus Gorges (2h30) can be reached by these paths directly from the farm.
Bird lovers will be interested in the on-farm platform that the LPO (Bird Protection League) has set up for the "Egyptian vulture". The "tawny" vultures come in large numbers (up to 80 at a time) between April and the end of August. And of course, during your stay, you are very welcome to visit the farm, see the animals, taste our cheeses and to ask any questions.
